My EmailFAQs

What should I do if I receive a virus-infected email?

Viruses are generally transmitted in the form of attachments. It does not spread unless you open the attachment.

While emailMyName scans all messages for virus-infected files, it's still a good idea to save attachments to your computer and scan them with anti-virus software before opening them.

If the attachment is infected, follow the removal instructions suggested by your anti-virus software. Most anti-virus software have the ability to detect and delete/clean the virus. However, it is very important to keep your anti-virus software up-to-date so that it can detect all the latest viruses also.
